Following an MBA from The Ohio State University in 1980, Bill spent 10 years in marketing and sales at Ford Motor Company, gaining valuable insights into the processes and methodologies used to drive success. Bill’s love of advertising and desire for a faster paced work environment lead him to Marcus Advertising, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he spent five years in account planning and management. Clients included Kelly Springfield Tire, Travel Centers of America, and three professional Cleveland sports teams. His insights into buyer motivation helped the Cleveland Indians become the first Major League team to sell out an entire season before opening day – a feat they repeated for the next four years.
Bill left Marcus and headed south in 1995, working with clients that included Michelin, Volvo Truck, Volvo Construction Equipment, Navistar Parts Division, the Carolina Hurricanes and South Trust Bank. In 2002, Bill co-founded At Large Marketing Solutions. With clients ranging from Dow Chemical Company, to regional brand, to small local start-ups, Bill’s strategic leadership, knowledge of media options and appreciation for brand-centered creative has delighted clients and improved businesses. In 2009, At Large Marketing merged with NexTech Marketing, combining best practices to become Sherpa Brand Marketing.
